The IWDG began an historic acoustic monitoring survey in UNESCO designated Dublin Bay Biosphere as 2016 came to a close. It is part of the Alexandra Basin Redevelopment Project marine mammal mitigation plan. 


TALES FROM A MARINE SANCTUARY

The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group (IWDG) embarked on an awareness project in 2016 to celebrate 25 years of the Irish Whale & Dolphin Sanctuary. The 'IWDG Whale & Dolphin Sanctuary Cruise' started in Fenit, Co Kerry and took their flagship boat Celtic Mist clockwise around the coastline of Ireland. I scrambled aboard in Greencastle, Co Donegal (go visit) and spent a day with volounteers surveying for purpoise who live in the area.


KILLER WHALES, DOLPHINS AND OTHER WILDLIFE ON THE CONTINENTAL SHELF

This short film shows some of the wildlife marine scientists aboard the Celtic Explorer see during a week long voyage on the Continental Shelf off the West Coast of Ireland.
